Moving on Everton Hill

Everton sits on one of the highest points in Liverpool, and Everton Park gives you views right over the city centre and the river. Housing here is a mix of red-brick terraces, newer low-rise homes built where the old tower blocks once stood, and flats. Steep streets around the park, near St George’s Church and Prince Rupert’s Tower (the old lock-up), mean planning where the van goes matters.

Everton is only a few miles from our Smithdown Road base, so our man and van Liverpool team gets to you quickly. We take furniture apart, carry it safely down stairs and slopes, and rebuild it at your new home. Packing is available if you want a hand with that too, and we also do single item deliveries and furniture removal for anything you are not taking with you.

FAQs

Everton Move Questions

Do you cover all of Everton?

Yes, we cover all of Everton in L5 and L6, including the streets around Everton Park, Netherfield Road, Everton Brow, Heyworth Street and Everton Road, and down towards the Goodison area and Kirkdale.

We also cover the neighbourhoods around Everton, including Anfield, Walton, Kensington and Vauxhall, so a short move from one street to the next, or across to a nearby area, is easy to arrange. Moving into Everton from elsewhere in Liverpool or from further away works just as well.

Whatever the size of the job, from a single sofa to a full family home, you get a clear price agreed before you book, with prices starting from £50. We work seven days a week, from 8am to 9pm, and usually reply to messages within the hour. If you are not sure whether your street is covered, send your postcode on WhatsApp at 07494 947 303 and we will confirm it. You can also see the full list of areas we cover across Liverpool and Merseyside.

Everton is very hilly. Does that cause problems on moving day?

No, it just takes planning. Some streets around Everton Park are steep, so we park the van where it is safe and level, and use proper lifting and wrapping so heavy items are carried down slopes without damage.

Everton sits on one of the highest points in Liverpool, and the roads near St George’s Church and Prince Rupert’s Tower can be steep in places. Before the day, we look at your street and decide where the van should stop, so the load is stable and the carry is as short and safe as possible. Heavy pieces such as wardrobes and sofas are wrapped and, where needed, taken apart so they are lighter and easier to control on a slope.

It helps if you tell us about any steps up to your front door, sloping paths or long walks from the road when you ask for a quote. Photos of the outside of the house are useful too. With that, we can plan the job properly and give you a clear price before you book. Your belongings are fully insured while they are in our care. You can read more about how a full house move runs from start to finish.

Can you move me out of a flat with no lift?

Yes, we regularly move people out of flats with no lift. Let us know which floor you are on and whether there is a lift when you ask for a quote, so we can plan the job properly.

Without a lift, everything comes down the stairs by hand, so we take bigger furniture such as beds, wardrobes and tables apart so it can be carried down safely, then rebuild it at the new place. Mattresses and sofas are wrapped to protect them and the stairwell walls. Boxes are much easier to carry if they are not overfilled, so keep heavy items like books in smaller boxes.

When you ask for a quote, tell us the floor number, whether the stairs are narrow or have tight turns, and how far the entrance is from where the van can park. Some blocks have shared car parks or rules about moving times, so check those if you can. We will then give you a clear price before you book. Our flat moves page explains more, and if you only have a few items, single item delivery may suit you better.

How far is Everton from your base?

Everton is only a few miles north of our Smithdown Road base in L7, so we are with you quickly and can often fit in short-notice jobs.

Being close means less of your booking goes on travel and more on the move itself. It also makes it easier for us to slot in a quick single item collection or a small flat move when the diary has a gap. We are in north Liverpool most weeks, so an Everton job often sits alongside work we are already doing in Anfield, Kirkdale or Walton.

We are open seven days a week, from 8am to 9pm, and we usually reply within the hour. We still recommend booking two or more days ahead where you can, especially at the end of the month when many tenancies end at once. If your move falls on a match day, booking early also helps us plan the route and timing. If you need help sooner, message us and we will tell you honestly whether we can fit you in. All our phone and WhatsApp details are on our contact page.

What’s parking like for a move in Everton?

Most Everton terraces and newer homes have on-street parking close to the door, though some streets are steep or narrow, so it is worth planning where the van will stop.

It helps if you can keep a space free outside on the morning of the move, for example by moving your own car or asking a neighbour. A short, level carry from the door to the van makes the job quicker and safer, especially on the sloping streets around Everton Park. If your home has a drive or a shared parking area, let us know.

Roads near Anfield and the Goodison area get much busier on match days, with more traffic and parked cars. If your move falls on a match day, tell us your street and date when you ask for a quote and we will plan the timing around it, for example by starting early. Include any permit bays, yellow lines or access issues you know about, and we will work out the best place to stop before we arrive. If you are moving from a flat, our flat moves page covers how we handle tighter access.

Do you take furniture apart and put it back together?

Yes, we take beds, wardrobes and tables apart to get them through narrow terraced hallways and down stairs, then rebuild them at your new home.

Everton has plenty of red-brick terraces with tight hallways and stairs, and large furniture can get stuck or scrape walls if it is forced through in one piece. Taking it apart means each part can be wrapped, carried and loaded properly, which is safer for the furniture and for your home. We keep the fixings with each item so it goes back together correctly at the other end.

When you ask for a quote, let us know which items will need taking apart, such as wardrobes, bed frames, dining tables or large desks, and send photos if you can. That helps us allow the right amount of time, and it is included in the clear price agreed before you book. This works for any job, from a single wardrobe to a full family move. If there are pieces you do not want to take with you, our furniture removal service can take them away instead.

Can you pack for me?

Yes, we offer full or partial packing, so you can leave everything to us or just the fragile items you would rather not handle yourself.

Full packing means we box up the whole home, from the kitchen cupboards to the wardrobes, label the boxes by room and load them in a sensible order. Partial packing suits people who are happy to do clothes and books but want help with glassware, crockery, mirrors, pictures and lamps. Either way, it takes pressure off in the busy days before you move, and well-packed boxes are easier and safer to carry down stairs and slopes.

Packing is normally done on the day of your move or just before it, depending on how much there is. Let us know which rooms or items you want packed when you ask for a quote, and send a few photos so we can judge the time needed. The packing is then included in the clear price agreed before you book. It works for any job, from a student move to a full house move across Liverpool or further afield.

Are my belongings insured during the move?

Yes, your belongings are fully insured while they are in our care, from the moment we load them to the moment they are in your new home.

Insurance is a backstop, and the aim is that you never need it. We wrap furniture before it goes in the van, protect mattresses and sofas, strap the load securely and take bigger items apart so they are not forced through tight hallways or carried awkwardly down steep streets. Fragile items we pack for you are boxed and padded properly.

There are a few things you can do to help us look after your belongings. Tell us about any valuable, antique or very fragile items when you book, so we can plan how to carry and pack them. If you are packing yourself, use strong boxes, avoid overfilling them and clearly mark anything breakable. Keep jewellery, important documents and medication with you rather than in the van. The details of how cover works are set out in our terms and conditions, and you are welcome to ask us any questions before you book. If you would like a hand with breakables, partial packing is available.

Can you collect a Marketplace item from Everton?

Yes, we collect second-hand furniture and appliances from sellers in Everton and deliver them to you, or pick up from anywhere and drop off at your Everton home.

Marketplace buys are one of our most common jobs. Typical items include sofas, wardrobes, beds, dining tables, fridges and washing machines. We carry the item out of the seller’s home, wrap it, load it securely and bring it straight into the room you want it in. If it needs taking apart to get it out of a terraced house or down a flight of stairs, we can do that and rebuild it when it arrives.

To get a price, send us the listing photo and both postcodes, plus any details about stairs or parking at either end. It helps to agree a collection time with the seller and let us know, so we can fit the job in around it. Prices start from £50, with a clear price agreed before you book. You can read more on our Marketplace collections page, or message us on WhatsApp with the listing to get started.

How do I get a quote for an Everton move?

Send us photos of what needs moving and both postcodes on WhatsApp at 07494 947 303, or call 0151 272 3467. We usually reply within the hour, from 8am to 9pm, seven days a week.

Photos help us price the job accurately, so include each room or the main items of furniture. Let us know which floor you are on at both ends, whether there are lifts, whether your street is steep, what parking is like and your preferred date. Mention anything that needs taking apart, any packing you want help with and any old furniture you want taken away. The quote form on this page opens WhatsApp with your details already filled in, which saves you typing it all out.

We then come back with a clear price, agreed before you book, with prices starting from £50 and long distance moves from £200. There is no obligation to go ahead. We recommend booking two or more days ahead, though short notice is often possible. If you are moving further away, our long distance removals cover anywhere in the UK, or you can compare all our services first.
