- Walls, doors and banisters protected as we go
- Beds and wardrobes taken apart to fit the stairs
- Fully insured while your things are in our care

Questions People Ask
Can you move me out of a flat with no lift?
Yes, stairs are a normal part of the job for us, whether you’re on the first floor or the top floor with no lift.
We carry everything down at your old flat and up again at the new one, so you don’t need to lift a thing. Larger items such as beds, wardrobes and tables are taken apart so they fit round tight landings, and anything that could catch a wall or a banister is wrapped in blankets first. The same approach works on walk-up flats above shops and in converted houses, whether you’re moving in Kensington or anywhere else in the city.
When you ask for a quote, tell us which floor you’re on at both ends and whether there’s a lift at either address. Stairs add time, so this helps us plan the move properly and give you an accurate price before you book, with nothing added on the day. Mention any big items that might be a tight squeeze, like a corner sofa or a large wardrobe, and send photos of the stairwell if it’s narrow. If you’re moving from a flat into a house, our house moves service works the same way.
Do you book the lift or parking for me?
No, your building manager, concierge or landlord usually needs to book the lift and loading bay, but we’ll plan the move around whatever slot you get.
Most apartment blocks have rules about moving. Some ask you to book the service lift, some have set loading bay times, and some only allow moves at certain hours of the day. The booking usually has to come from the resident, so contact your building manager as soon as you know your date, at both your old and your new address.
Once you have the times, send them to us with your quote request and we’ll fit the move into them. If the lift has protective covers or there’s a deposit to pay, check that with the building manager too. On the day, we’ll work within the slot so you’re not over your time. This comes up a lot in city centre apartment blocks, and it’s worth sorting early because popular slots go quickly, especially at weekends and at the end of the month. If there’s no lift or loading bay at all, let us know what the street outside is like, and we’ll plan around that instead.
Will you take my bed apart to get it down the stairs?
Yes, we take apart beds, wardrobes and tables to get them through tight doors and landings, then rebuild them in your new place.
It’s included in every flat move. Taking a bed apart is often the only way to get it down a narrow stairwell without marking the walls, and it loads more safely in the van. We bring our own tools, and the screws and fittings are bagged and kept with each piece so nothing goes missing. Wardrobes and large tables get the same treatment, and anything that can’t be taken apart is wrapped and carried carefully.
To help, strip the bedding before we arrive, empty wardrobes and drawers, and leave out any instructions you still have for flat-pack furniture. When you ask for a quote, list the items that need taking apart, so we can allow the time. At your new flat, tell us which room each piece goes in and we’ll rebuild it there, and you can ask for the bed first so it’s ready that night. If you’re only moving a bed or one large item rather than the whole flat, our single item delivery may suit you better.
How quickly can you move a one-bed flat?
Many one-bed flat moves are done in a morning or an afternoon, although stairs, access and how much you have all affect the time.
A ground-floor flat with parking outside and a modest amount of furniture can be quick. A top-floor walk-up with a long carry to the van, or a building where the lift has to be booked, takes longer. Distance matters too, but within Liverpool the loading and unloading usually take more time than the drive. Having everything packed and ready before we arrive is the biggest thing you can do to speed it up.
When you ask for a quote, send photos of each room, both postcodes and the floor you’re on at each end, and we’ll give you a clear idea of the time along with the price. If you’re moving a small flat in Edge Hill or nearby with housemates, our student moves let you share one van. Book at least two days ahead, and earlier for Fridays and weekends. Prices start from £50, with a clear price agreed before you book.
Can you move me out of a city centre apartment block?
Yes, we move people in and out of city centre apartment blocks every week.
City centre moves come with their own rules, so the first step is to check with your concierge or building manager. Ask about lift bookings, loading bay times and any rules on when moves are allowed, and do this for both your old and your new building. Some blocks also ask for notice in writing or have protective covers for the lift, so it’s worth asking early.
Once you know the times, send them to us with your quote request, along with both postcodes and photos of your rooms, and we’ll plan the day around them. Street parking in the city centre is limited, which is why a booked loading bay makes such a difference. If there isn’t one, tell us what the street is like so we can plan for it. We also work with businesses in the city centre, so if you’re moving an office or need stock delivered, have a look at our commercial deliveries. Book at least two days ahead, and earlier for weekends.
What if there’s nowhere to park outside my building?
Tell us when you ask for a quote, and if your building has a loading bay or car park, ask the building manager to reserve a space for the day.
Parking close to the entrance cuts down the carrying and makes the move quicker. If there’s no loading bay, it often helps to ask a neighbour or the building manager whether you can use a space for a few hours, or to move your own car so the van can pull in. On busy streets, even a short walk from the van to the door adds time to every trip up and down the stairs.
Let us know what the street is like at both ends: whether it’s permit parking, a narrow road, a main road with restrictions or a quiet side street. Photos of the front of the building help. With that information, we can plan the time properly and give you an accurate price, so nothing changes on the day. Whether you’re in Toxteth or elsewhere in Liverpool, moves from flats above shops or on narrow terraced streets often need this kind of planning. Send your details through the quote form or our contact page and we’ll talk it through.
Can you move my sofa if it won’t fit in the lift?
Yes, if a sofa or wardrobe won’t fit in the lift, we carry it down the stairs instead.
Big items are wrapped in blankets first so they don’t catch the walls, doorframes or banisters, and we take our time on the turns. Where furniture can be taken apart, we do that too. Many sofas have removable feet, arms or back cushions, and corner sofas usually split into sections, which makes them much easier to get round a landing. Wardrobes, beds and tables are taken apart and rebuilt at your new flat.
When you ask for a quote, send a photo of the sofa and tell us which floor you’re on at both ends, whether there’s a lift and roughly how wide the stairwell is. That lets us plan the carry and give you an accurate price. If it’s going to be a very tight fit, we’ll tell you before we book rather than on the day. If you’re not taking the old sofa with you, we can take it away through our furniture removal service, which saves you carrying it down yourself. We take furniture and household items, not general waste.
Can you pack my flat for me?
Yes, we offer full and partial packing for flat moves, so you can hand over as much of the boxing up as you like.
Full packing means we pack the whole flat for you, so it’s ready to load as soon as we arrive. Partial packing suits people who want to do their own clothes and personal bits but would rather leave the kitchen, the glassware or anything fragile to us. Packed properly, your things travel better and load faster, which is useful when there are stairs or a lift booking to work around.
Mention packing when you ask for a quote and send photos of the rooms you want help with, so we can include it in the price and allow the time. If you’re packing yourself, use strong boxes, keep them to a weight you can carry down the stairs, and write the room on each one. Pack a day-one bag with the kettle, chargers, toilet roll and bedding, and keep it with you. Packing is available on every move, whether it’s a studio or a family home, and our house moves include the same options if you’re moving from a flat into a house.
Are my things insured during a flat move?
Yes, your belongings are fully insured while they’re in our care, from the moment we pick them up to the moment we put them down.
Flat moves carry their own risks, such as tight stairwells, narrow doors and lifts that only just fit a sofa, so we put most of our effort into avoiding damage in the first place. Large items are wrapped in blankets and strapped into the van, furniture is taken apart where it helps, and we protect walls, doors and banisters as we go. Everything is carried, not dragged, and placed in the room you want it in.
You can help by packing breakables in sturdy, well-padded boxes and marking them clearly, and by telling us about anything valuable, delicate or very heavy when you ask for a quote. Keep jewellery, documents, medication and cash with you rather than in the van. If you’re renting, take photos of the stairwell and communal areas before the move, which can help with your deposit. You can read how we handle damage, cancellations and items we can’t carry in our terms and conditions, and ask us if anything isn’t clear.
How do I get a quote for my flat move?
Send us photos of your rooms on WhatsApp with both postcodes and the floor you’re on at each end, and we’ll come back with a clear price.
You can use the quote form at the top of this page, which opens WhatsApp with your details filled in, or message us directly on 07552 999 177. If you’d rather talk, call 0151 272 3467 or get in touch through our contact page. We usually reply within the hour, seven days a week.
The more we know, the more accurate the price. Tell us whether there’s a lift at either end, whether it needs booking, and what parking is like outside both buildings. Mention large or awkward items such as a corner sofa, a big wardrobe or an American-style fridge freezer, and say if you’d like packing or need old furniture taken away. Prices start from £50 for local moves, and you get a clear price agreed before you book. If you’re moving from Liverpool to another city, our long distance removals start from £200. Book at least two days ahead, and earlier for weekends.
