House and Flat Moves Across Wavertree
Wavertree is mostly rows of Victorian and Edwardian terraces, with bigger houses and older cottages around Wavertree Village and the High Street, and plenty of rented rooms and flats near Picton Road. Streets are often lined with parked cars and the houses have narrow hallways and steep stairs, so a bit of planning makes a big difference on the day.
Our base on Smithdown Road sits right on the edge of Wavertree, so we are just up the road for most jobs in L15. We take bulky furniture apart, wrap it, carry it out and rebuild it at the other end, whether you are moving round the corner or to the other end of the country.

Wavertree Move Questions
Do you cover all of Wavertree?
Yes, we cover all of Wavertree in L15, so wherever you are in the area we can help. That includes Wavertree Village and the High Street around the Picton Clock Tower, Picton Road, Lawrence Road, the streets by the Mystery and the roads heading towards Smithdown Road and Childwall.
We also cover the places right on the edge of Wavertree, such as Edge Hill, Old Swan, Mossley Hill and the area around Wavertree Technology Park. Most of our jobs here are house and flat moves, but we also do single items, Marketplace pickups, student moves, packing and furniture removal.
Every job is planned the same way. We look at the type of property, the stairs and hallways, the parking and what is going, then agree a clear price before you book. If you are not sure whether your street is covered, send us your postcode on WhatsApp and we will confirm straight away. For a full list of the places we serve, see our areas we cover page.
How far are you from Wavertree?
Very close. Our base is on Smithdown Road, which runs right along the edge of Wavertree, so for most jobs in L15 we are only a few minutes away.
Being this close has real benefits for you. Short notice is often possible, and we can usually fit around your plans more easily than a firm coming from further away. That said, we still recommend booking two or more days ahead if you can, especially at weekends, at the end of the month and around the start and end of university terms, when lots of people in the area move. We are open seven days a week, 8am to 9pm.
Plenty of our Wavertree customers are moving only a short distance, to Smithdown, Childwall or another street in L15. Others are moving further across Liverpool or to the other end of the country. Wherever you are going, travel is included in the clear price we agree before you book. Send us photos and both postcodes on WhatsApp and we usually reply within the hour.
Can you get furniture in and out of Wavertree terraces?
Yes, we get furniture in and out of Wavertree terraces all the time, even with narrow hallways and tight stairs. Many homes in the area are Victorian and Edwardian terraces, which were not built with modern wardrobes and corner sofas in mind.
Where needed, we take beds, wardrobes and tables apart so they come out without damage to the furniture or your walls, then rebuild them at your new home. We also wrap items before carrying them, which protects both the furniture and the paintwork on the way out. Things like the turn at the top of the stairs, a low ceiling or a narrow front door are worth mentioning when you ask for a quote, and a quick photo helps a lot.
If you are buying a big new item for a terrace, measure the hallway and stairs before you order it. If you are moving out of a terrace into a flat, have a look at our flat moves page, and for whole homes our house moves page explains how a typical day works.
Is parking difficult on the terraced streets off Picton Road?
It can be, because most of the terraces around Picton Road and Lawrence Road have on-street parking only, often with cars on both sides of the road. That can make it hard to stop right outside your front door.
A bit of planning sorts most of it out. When you book, tell us your street and house number, and mention any quirks you know about, such as a one-way street, a tight corner or a time of day when spaces are easier to find. We will plan where to stop and load before the day. If you have a car, moving it the night before to keep a space free can make a real difference, and a friendly word with neighbours helps too.
Parking can also be busier around the start and end of university terms, when lots of students in the area move at once, so booking early is a good idea at those times. If you are a student, see our student moves page, or send us your street on WhatsApp and we will tell you how we would approach it.
Do you do student moves in Wavertree?
Yes, we do student moves in Wavertree regularly, as plenty of students rent rooms and shared houses in the area, close to the universities. We move rooms and flats at the start and end of term, and we can take things home to anywhere in the UK.
Student moves are often smaller than a full house move, but they still need planning. Shared houses can have steep stairs and narrow landings, and several housemates may be moving on the same day. If you are sharing a van with friends, tell us how many people and which rooms are involved, so we can plan the order of drops. Bag up clothes and bedding, box up books and kitchen items, and label everything with your name.
End of term is busy, so book as early as you can. Prices start from £50, with a clear price agreed before you book. You can read more on our student moves page, and if you are heading home a long way, our long distance removals service starts from £200.
Can you collect a Marketplace item in Wavertree?
Yes, we pick up single items and Marketplace buys across L15 and drop them anywhere in Liverpool or further afield. Because our base is so close, Wavertree pickups are often quick to arrange.
Common collections include sofas, wardrobes, beds, fridge freezers, dining tables and desks. Before you agree a sale, check the item will fit through your door and up your stairs, which matters in a lot of Wavertree terraces. Ask the seller if it is on the ground floor, whether it comes apart, and what time they will be in. If it needs taking apart, we can do that when we collect and rebuild it at your end.
To get a price, send us the listing link or a photo plus both postcodes on WhatsApp. We usually reply within the hour, and prices start from £50, agreed before we set off. For more on how it works, see our Marketplace collections page, or our single item delivery service for things like shop purchases and items you are giving to family.
Can you pack for us?
Yes, we can pack for you, with either full packing, where we pack the whole home, or partial packing, where we just do the fragile or awkward things. You choose whatever suits your time and budget.
Full packing is useful if you are short on time or moving a bigger house around Wavertree Village. Partial packing suits people who are happy to box up clothes and books but would rather leave glassware, mirrors, pictures and kitchen items to us. Either way, everything is wrapped and loaded so it travels safely, whether you are moving one street over or across the country.
When you ask for a quote, tell us which option you want and roughly how many rooms are involved. Photos of cupboards, shelves and delicate items help us price it properly. If you are packing some things yourself, label each box with the room it is going to, as that makes unloading much quicker. Packing can be added to any of our removal services. If you have old furniture to get rid of at the same time, see the next question.
Can you take away old furniture when we move?
Yes, we can take away old furniture when you move, as long as it is furniture or household items. Our furniture removal service covers things like old sofas, beds, mattresses, wardrobes, tables and chairs, but not general waste, rubbish or builders’ rubble.
Moving is a good time to clear out. Many Wavertree terraces have limited storage, and a new place may not have room for everything you own now. If you know there are pieces you will not be taking, tell us when you ask for a quote. We can take them away on the same day as your move, which saves you a separate trip or booking.
To help us plan, send photos of the items you want removed along with your move details, and let us know where they are in the house, such as upstairs or in the back yard. We will include them in the clear price agreed before you book. You can read more on our furniture removal page, and our terms and conditions explain which items we cannot carry.
Are my things insured during the move?
Yes, your belongings are fully insured while they are in our care, from loading in Wavertree to unloading at your new home. That covers the carry out, the drive and the carry in.
Insurance gives you peace of mind, but careful handling is what really keeps things safe. We wrap furniture, take apart bulky items where needed and load the van so nothing moves about on the journey. In Wavertree’s terraces that also means planning how to get things round tight stairs and through narrow hallways without knocks. If you have anything especially valuable or fragile, such as a large mirror, artwork, a musical instrument or an antique, tell us when you ask for a quote so we can plan how to pack and carry it.
On the day, keep jewellery, important documents, keys and anything sentimental with you. For full details of how we deal with damage, cancellations and items we cannot carry, please read our terms and conditions. If you have questions before booking, you can contact us and we will talk you through it.
How much does a Wavertree move cost and how much notice do you need?
Prices start from £50, and long distance moves from £200, with a clear price agreed before you book. The final figure depends on how much is going, the stairs and access at each end, the distance, and whether you want packing or furniture removal.
We recommend booking two or more days ahead, but because our base is just up the road on Smithdown Road, short notice is often possible. Weekends, the end of the month and the start and end of university terms are the busiest times, so book earlier if your move falls then. We are open seven days a week, 8am to 9pm.
To get a price, message us on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177 or call 0151 272 3467, and we usually reply within the hour. You can also use the quote form at the top of this page, which opens WhatsApp with your details filled in. Send photos of what is moving, both postcodes and any stairs or large items. If you would like to talk it through, visit our contact page, or browse all our services first.
