Questions People Ask
Can you move just one item?
Yes, moving one sofa, one fridge freezer or one bed is a job we do every day, and you only pay for what’s being moved.
There’s no minimum job size, so you don’t need to fill a van or book a full house move to get one large item from A to B. Common single item jobs include a new sofa that won’t fit in the car, a fridge freezer going to a family member, a bed going to a new flat, or a wardrobe being passed on. We wrap and strap each item, carry it into the room you want it in, and it’s fully insured while it’s in our care.
Prices start from £50, with a clear price agreed before you book. Send us a photo of the item and both postcodes, and tell us about stairs or lifts at either end. If you’ve bought the item second-hand, our Marketplace collections are set up for picking up from a seller. If one item turns into a few rooms’ worth, we can price it as a house move instead. We usually reply within the hour, seven days a week.
Can you take my item up the stairs?
Yes, we carry your item into the room you want it in, including upstairs.
We don’t leave things on the doorstep or in the hallway. Whether it’s a bed going into a top-floor bedroom or a sofa going into a first-floor lounge, we take it all the way. Items are wrapped in blankets before they go up, so they don’t mark the walls, doorframes or banisters, and where something comes apart, such as a bed frame or a wardrobe, we take it apart to get it round the turns and rebuild it in the room.
When you ask for a quote, tell us about stairs and lifts at both ends: which floor, whether there’s a lift, and whether the stairwell is narrow or has a tight turn. A photo of the stairs helps if you think it’ll be a squeeze. That lets us plan the carry and give you an accurate price before you book. If you live in a flat with no lift, it’s routine for us, and it’s the same work we do every week on our flat moves. If we think an item won’t fit, we’ll tell you before we book.
Can you move a fridge freezer or washing machine?
Yes, we move fridge freezers and washing machines, with fridge freezers kept upright where possible and strapped in.
Moving a fridge freezer upright helps protect it, and we strap it in so it can’t shift on the way. That includes American-style fridge freezers, which are heavy and need careful handling round doorways. Before we arrive, switch the fridge freezer off, empty it and defrost it, ideally the day before, so it’s dry and safe to move. Once it’s in place at the other end, it’s usually best to let it stand for a while before switching it back on.
Washing machines and dryers need to be disconnected and drained before we arrive. If the machine has transit bolts, it’s worth fitting them, as they help protect the drum. Tell us when you ask for a quote whether the item is going up or down stairs and roughly how wide the doorways are, especially for American-style fridge freezers. We’ll carry it into the room you want it in. Prices start from £50, with a clear price agreed before you book. You can see which items we can and can’t carry in our terms and conditions.
How quickly can you collect?
Send us a photo and both postcodes, and we’ll tell you the earliest slot we have, which is often the same day or the next.
Single items are the easiest jobs to fit in at short notice, because they don’t take long and don’t need much space in the van. We’re open Monday to Sunday, 8am to 9pm, and we usually reply within the hour, so you’ll know quickly when we can come. We recommend booking at least two days ahead to get your choice of time, but short-notice jobs are often possible.
To get the quickest answer, WhatsApp us on 07552 999 177 or use the quote form, which opens WhatsApp with your details filled in. Include a photo of the item, the postcodes at both ends, whether there are stairs or a lift, and the times that work for you. If you’d rather talk, call 0151 272 3467 or use our contact page. We’re based on Smithdown Road, so jobs in Smithdown and nearby areas are easy for us to reach quickly, and we cover the rest of Liverpool and Merseyside too. Fridays and weekends book up first.
Can you collect a new sofa from a shop and deliver it to my home?
Yes, we can collect from a shop, warehouse or retail park and bring it straight to your home.
It’s a common job when a store’s own delivery date is weeks away or the item won’t fit in your car. Before we arrive, make sure the item is paid for and ready to collect, and check whether the shop needs a reference number or order confirmation to release it. If it’s flat-packed, let us know whether you want it brought in as it is. If it’s already assembled, tell us the size so we can plan the doorways and stairs at your end.
When you ask for a quote, send us the shop’s postcode and yours, a photo or product link for the item, and any collection times the shop gives you. We’ll arrange a time, collect it, wrap and strap it in the van and carry it into the room you want it in. It’s fully insured while it’s in our care. Whether you’re in Old Swan or anywhere else in Liverpool, prices start from £50. Businesses that need regular deliveries from a supplier can use our commercial deliveries.
Will my sofa fit through the door?
Send us a photo of the sofa and tell us about the doorways and stairs, and we’ll tell you before we book if it’s going to be tight.
Most sofas get in with a bit of planning. Many have removable feet, arms or back cushions, and corner sofas usually split into sections, so where a sofa comes apart, we take it apart and put it back together in the room. We wrap it in blankets so it doesn’t mark the walls or doorframes, and we take our time on the turns.
To help us judge it, measure the sofa’s height, width and depth, and the width of the front door, any internal doors and the stairwell, including any tight turns. Photos of the hallway and stairs help a lot. If it’s genuinely not going to fit, it’s better to know before anyone lifts it, so we’ll be honest with you. If the new sofa is replacing an old one, we can take the old one away on the same trip through our furniture removal service, which covers furniture and household items, not general waste. Prices start from £50, with a clear price agreed before you book.
Do you take beds and wardrobes apart?
Yes, bed frames and large wardrobes are taken apart at collection and rebuilt at the other end.
Taking them apart gets them through narrow doors and round tight landings without marking the walls, and they travel more safely in the van. We bring our own tools, and screws and fittings are bagged and kept with the furniture, so nothing goes missing. Once we’ve delivered, we rebuild the bed or wardrobe in the room you want it in, so it’s ready to use straight away.
Before we arrive, strip the bedding, take the mattress off the frame if you can, and empty the wardrobe completely, including any shelves and drawers. If you still have the instructions for flat-pack furniture, leave them out. Mattresses are kept clean in transit. Tell us when you ask for a quote which items need taking apart, so we can allow the time. This is a common job for students moving a bed or desk into a new house, and our student moves handle exactly that, from one item to a whole room. Prices start from £50, with a clear price agreed before you book.
Is my item insured while you’re moving it?
Yes, your item is fully insured while it’s in our care, from the moment we collect it to the moment it’s in place.
We also do the things that stop damage happening at all. Every item is wrapped in blankets and strapped in the van so it can’t move in transit. Large pieces are taken apart where that helps them through doorways, and they’re carried, not dragged. Fridge freezers are kept upright where possible, and mattresses are kept clean on the way.
You can help by telling us about the item when you ask for a quote, especially if it’s fragile, very heavy or valuable, such as a glass cabinet, a large mirror or gym equipment. Send a photo so we can see what we’re dealing with and plan the right protection. For appliances, make sure they’re disconnected, emptied and drained before we arrive. If you’d like to know how we handle damage, cancellations and items we can’t carry, it’s all set out in our terms and conditions, and you can ask us anything before you book. Prices start from £50, with a clear price agreed upfront.
Can you take my old item away when you deliver the new one?
Yes, we can take away your old furniture or household item on the same trip as we deliver the new one.
It’s one of the most common combined jobs we do. We bring the new sofa, bed or fridge freezer in, and take the old one out, so you don’t have to store it or arrange a separate collection. This is covered by our furniture removal service, which takes furniture and household items only, not general waste. That means no bags of rubbish, garden waste or building rubble.
When you ask for a quote, tell us about both items and send a photo of each, so we can plan the space in the van and include everything in the price. If the old item is upstairs, mention that too. For appliances, make sure the old one is disconnected, emptied and drained before we arrive. Doing both in one trip is usually cheaper than booking two separate jobs. If you’re not sure whether something counts as a household item we can take, send us a photo and we’ll tell you straight. You get a clear price agreed before you book.
Can you deliver a single item outside Liverpool?
Yes, we deliver single items from Liverpool to anywhere in the UK, and we collect from anywhere within around 100 miles of Liverpool.
That covers jobs like a sofa going to a family member in another city, a bed going to a student’s new house, or an item you’ve bought from a seller outside Merseyside. For longer journeys, our long distance removals start from £200, with a clear price agreed before you book. Every item is wrapped, strapped in and fully insured while it’s in our care.
Closer to home, we cover every Liverpool postcode, plus Sefton, Knowsley, the Wirral, St Helens and Halton, and you can find your nearest area on our areas we cover page. Local single item jobs start from £50. To get a price, send us both postcodes, a photo of the item and any details about stairs or lifts at either end. Longer runs need a bit more planning, so give us as much notice as you can, especially for Fridays and weekends. We usually reply within the hour, seven days a week.
