We Know Aigburth’s Streets

Aigburth is one of the best places to live in Liverpool, and one of the trickiest to move in. Lots of homes are big Victorian houses split into flats, with steep stairs, narrow landings and high ceilings. Roads around Lark Lane and Sefton Park get busy, and parking right outside isn’t always easy.

We deal with all of it regularly. We plan around the stairs, take furniture apart to get it through tight doorways, and protect the original banisters and woodwork as we go. As a man and van Liverpool team based just up the road on Smithdown Road, we’re never far away.

FAQs

Aigburth Move Questions

Do you cover all of Aigburth?

Yes, we cover the whole of Aigburth across L17 and L19, including Lark Lane, Sefton Park, Aigburth Road, Aigburth Vale, St Michael’s Hamlet, Otterspool, Cressington and Grassendale. Whether you’re moving within Aigburth, into the area or out of it, we can help.

Homes here range from converted flats in big Victorian houses to family houses around Sefton Park and new builds, and we plan each move around the property and the street. We also cover the neighbourhoods right next door, so a move from Aigburth to Mossley Hill or Garston is a short local job for us.

Every one of our services is available in Aigburth, from house and flat moves to single items, Marketplace pickups, student moves and furniture removal. Send us photos and both postcodes on WhatsApp at 07494 947 303 for a clear price before you book. Prices start from £50, and we usually reply within the hour, 8am to 9pm, seven days a week.

How close are you to Aigburth?

We’re based on Smithdown Road in L7, just a short drive from Aigburth, so we can often fit in short-notice jobs. Being this close means less time on the road before we start, and we know the local streets, parking and typical house layouts well.

We work 8am to 9pm, seven days a week, so early starts, evening jobs and weekend moves are all possible. We still recommend booking two or more days ahead, especially at the end of the month and during the student changeover in June and September, but it’s always worth asking if you need us sooner. Tell us your preferred date when you message and we’ll tell you the earliest slot we have.

Short-notice requests are often smaller jobs, such as a single item delivery or a quick collection, but we’ll look at full moves too. Send us photos of what needs moving and both postcodes, and we’ll agree a clear price before you book.

Can you move me out of a converted flat in an old Aigburth house?

Yes, we regularly move people out of converted flats in Aigburth’s large Victorian houses, including top-floor flats with steep, narrow stairs. These homes often have tight landings, high ceilings and original banisters, so we plan the route out before we lift anything.

We take beds, wardrobes and tables apart where needed so they fit round corners and through tight doorways, and we protect banisters, walls and woodwork as we go. Tell us which floor you’re on, whether the stairs are shared and roughly how many large pieces you have when you ask for a quote. Photos of the stairway and the biggest items help us plan the job properly, and your belongings are fully insured while they’re in our care.

Read more on our flat moves page. If you’re moving into a bigger house afterwards, our house moves service covers family homes around Sefton Park and beyond, with full or partial packing if you want it.

What’s parking like for a move in Aigburth?

Parking for a move in Aigburth varies by street, and roads around Lark Lane and Sefton Park can get busy. Being able to park close to your door makes loading quicker and safer, so it’s worth planning ahead.

It helps to keep a space free outside on the day, for example by moving your own car or asking a neighbour to leave a gap. If you live on a main road such as Aigburth Road, tell us about any loading restrictions and the nearest side street where the van can stop safely. Mention parking when you ask for a quote so we can plan the timing and how far we’ll need to carry. If there’s a permit zone or a private car park, let us know that too.

Parking matters at both ends, so if you’re moving to Toxteth or elsewhere in the city, tell us what it’s like there as well. Our house removals page explains how a moving day runs.

Can you help with a student move from an Aigburth house share?

Yes, we move students in and out of house shares around Aigburth, Lark Lane and Smithdown all the time. It might be one room’s worth of boxes and a desk, or a whole shared house moving at once.

Book two or more days ahead in June and September, when lots of tenancies end at once and dates fill up quickly. If several housemates are moving, you can share one booking, as long as you tell us how many rooms there are and where each person is going. Label your boxes with your name, and send us photos and both postcodes for a clear price before you book. Prices start from £50, and moves home to another part of the UK start from £200.

See our student moves page for more. If you’re leaving furniture behind at the end of a tenancy, our furniture removal service can take it away on the same trip.

Do you take furniture apart and put it back together?

Yes, we take beds, wardrobes and tables apart to get them down narrow stairs and through tight doorways, then rebuild them at your new place. In Aigburth’s older houses and converted flats, this is often the only safe way to get bigger pieces out.

Empty wardrobes and drawers before we arrive, and let us know about any large or awkward items, such as corner sofas, bunk beds or extending dining tables, when you ask for a quote. We keep the fixings for each piece together so everything goes back up as it came down. Anything fixed to a wall may need to be unscrewed before the day, so tell us about it in advance. Taking apart and rebuilding is included in the clear price we agree before you book.

It’s part of every flat move we do. If an old piece isn’t worth rebuilding at the new place, we can take it away instead, so you only bring what you need.

Are my belongings insured during the move?

Yes, your belongings are fully insured while they’re in our care, from the moment we load them to the moment they’re in your new home. That applies whether you’re moving across Aigburth or to the other side of the country.

We also work to stop damage happening at all. Furniture is wrapped and strapped in the van, heavy pieces are loaded first, and fragile boxes are kept where nothing can fall on them. You can help by packing breakables in strong boxes with plenty of padding and marking them clearly. If you’d rather not pack, full and partial packing are available. Let us know about any high-value or delicate items when you ask for a quote.

Our terms and conditions explain how cover and claims work. The same insurance applies on single item jobs too, so a sofa or wardrobe is covered just like a full move. If you have questions about cover, ask us before you book.

Can you collect a Marketplace item from Aigburth?

Yes, we collect second-hand furniture and appliances from sellers in Aigburth and deliver them to you, or pick up from anywhere and bring them to your Aigburth home. Sofas, wardrobes, tables, fridges and washing machines are all common pickups.

Send us the listing photo, both postcodes and the floor the item is on at each end. Make sure the item is paid for or that the seller knows we’re coming, and check it will fit through your door and up your stairs. If the seller has taken a piece apart, ask them to keep the fixings together. Prices start from £50, and we usually reply within the hour.

Read more on our Marketplace collections page. We also collect from sellers in nearby Allerton and across south Liverpool. We recommend booking at least two days ahead, but short notice is often possible, so message us as soon as you’ve agreed the sale and we’ll tell you the earliest slot.

Can you move me from Aigburth to another part of the UK?

Yes, we move people from Liverpool to anywhere in the UK, so a move from Aigburth to another city is no problem. The same team loads your things in Aigburth, drives them and unloads them at your new home.

Long distance moves start from £200, and the price depends on the distance, how much you’re moving and access at both ends. Furniture is taken apart, wrapped and strapped for the journey, and full or partial packing is available. Send us both postcodes and photos of what’s going and we’ll agree a clear price before you book. We can also collect from anywhere within around 100 miles of Liverpool if you’re moving here.

See our long distance removals page for popular routes and more detail. We recommend booking at least two days ahead, and earlier for weekends and the end of the month, when dates book up first. Message us with your preferred date and we’ll tell you what we have.

How do I get a quote for an Aigburth move?

To get a quote for an Aigburth move, send us photos of what needs moving and both postcodes on WhatsApp at 07494 947 303, or call 0151 272 3467. We usually reply within the hour, 8am to 9pm, seven days a week.

The quote form on this page opens WhatsApp with your details already filled in, so you just add photos and press send. To get the most accurate price, include the floor you’re on at each end, whether there’s a lift, parking near your door, any large items that need taking apart and whether you’d like packing. Prices start from £50, and we agree a clear price before you book, so you know the cost before we arrive.

You can also reach us through our contact page, or browse all our services to see what else we do in Aigburth. We recommend booking at least two days ahead, though short notice is often possible, so it’s always worth asking.
