Moving Home in St Helens
St Helens grew up on glassmaking and coal, so a lot of the housing near the town centre and in areas like Thatto Heath and Parr is rows of red-brick terraces, often with on-street parking only. Further out, around Eccleston, Rainford and Haydock, it is more semis, detached houses and newer estates with drives.
St Helens is outside Liverpool, but we cover it regularly from our Liverpool base, coming in along the East Lancs Road or the M62. We wrap and load your things, take apart and rebuild furniture, and handle anything from a single sofa to a full house move.

Questions People Ask
Do you cover all of St Helens?
Yes, we cover all of St Helens across WA9, WA10 and WA11, from the town centre and the streets around Victoria Park to Sutton, Thatto Heath, Eccleston and Haydock, plus Bold and the area around Sherdley Park.
That includes the red-brick terraces near the town centre and in Parr, the semis and newer estates around Eccleston, Windle and Rainford, and the family homes out towards Blackbrook and Haydock. We also work in the towns either side, so a move from St Helens to Prescot or Whiston is just as easy as one within WA10.
Whether you need a full house move, a flat move or a single item collected, we can help. We are open seven days a week, 8am to 9pm, and have done more than 300 moves. If you are not sure we cover your street, send your postcode on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177 and we will confirm, usually within the hour. Our full list of areas we cover shows everywhere else we work across Merseyside and beyond.
St Helens is outside Liverpool. Do you still cover it?
Yes, we cover St Helens regularly from our Liverpool base, usually coming in along the East Lancs Road or the M62.
Moves between St Helens and Liverpool are some of the jobs we do most. People move from the terraces in Thatto Heath to a flat in the city, or from south Liverpool out to a house with a drive in Eccleston or Rainford, and we handle both directions the same way. Being outside the city does not change how we work: we still wrap your furniture, take apart anything that needs it and rebuild it at the other end.
We also do plenty of jobs that stay inside St Helens, such as a move from Parr to Sutton, or a single item delivery from one side of town to the other. Prices start from £50, and we agree a clear price with you before you book, so the drive from Liverpool does not bring any surprises. Send photos and both postcodes on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177, or call 0151 272 3467. We also cover the towns on the way, including Huyton.
Can you move us from St Helens to somewhere further away?
Yes, we move people from St Helens to anywhere in the UK, and long distance moves start from £200.
Whether you are heading to another part of the North West or the other end of the country, we plan the day around the distance. Tell us where you are moving to when you ask for a quote, along with what is going and whether there are stairs or a lift at either end. That lets us work out timings, so you know when we will load in St Helens and roughly when we will arrive at your new place. Our long distance removals page has more detail on how these moves work.
For a longer move, packing can make a big difference. We offer full packing, where we pack the whole home, or partial packing for the fragile and awkward things. Your belongings are fully insured while they are in our care for the whole journey. We recommend booking at least two days ahead, and a little more notice helps for longer trips. Send photos and both postcodes on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177, or call 0151 272 3467, and we will come back with a clear price.
How long does it take you to get to St Helens?
It usually takes around half an hour from our base on Smithdown Road, depending on traffic on the East Lancs Road or the M62.
We allow for the drive when we agree a time with you, so we turn up when we say we will. If you are moving early in the morning or at a busy time of day, we build a bit of extra time in to cover the traffic. For moves that start in Liverpool and finish in St Helens, or the other way round, the drive is part of the plan and is included in the price we agree before you book.
Because we cover St Helens regularly, we can often fit in smaller jobs, like a Marketplace collection, around other work nearby in places like Prescot, Huyton or Whiston. We are open Monday to Sunday, 8am to 9pm, which gives you plenty of choice on timing. If you need us at a set time, for example when your keys are released, tell us when you book. Message us on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177 and we usually reply within the hour. You can also see our nearby Warrington man and van page.
Is parking a problem outside terraced houses in Thatto Heath or Parr?
It can be, because a lot of the terraces near the town centre, Thatto Heath and Parr only have on-street parking, often with cars on both sides.
That is why we sort out where to load before the day. Tell us your street when you book, and if you can, send a photo of the front of the house and the road outside. If the street is usually full, it helps to ask neighbours to leave a space free or to park your own car outside the night before to save the spot. A shorter carry from the front door to the van makes the move quicker and safer.
Terraces also tend to have narrow hallways and steep stairs, so we take apart beds, wardrobes and other big pieces where needed and rebuild them at your new place. If you are moving to a house with a drive in Eccleston, Rainford or Haydock, unloading at the other end is usually much simpler. For smaller homes and flats, our flat moves service is a good fit, and for bigger homes see our house removals. Message us on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177 to plan your move.
Do you take furniture apart and put it back together?
Yes, we take apart beds, wardrobes and anything else that will not fit through a door or down the stairs, then rebuild it at your new place.
It is part of the job, not an extra you have to ask for. That matters in St Helens, where a lot of the older terraced houses have narrow hallways and tight stairs. Forcing a big wardrobe round a landing is how walls get marked and furniture gets damaged, so we take it apart, wrap the pieces, carry them down safely and put everything back together once it is in the right room. Screws and fittings are kept together so nothing goes missing.
It helps if you tell us about the bigger pieces when you ask for a quote, especially anything like a large corner sofa, a bed with storage or a fitted wardrobe. A photo is enough for us to plan. If some of your furniture is not coming with you, our furniture removal service can take it away, as long as it is furniture or household items. Our terms and conditions list any items we cannot carry, or message us on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177.
Can you pack for us?
Yes, we offer full packing, where we pack the whole house, or partial packing for just the fragile or awkward things.
Full packing suits people who are short on time or would rather not deal with boxes at all. We pack each room, label everything and load it in an order that makes unpacking easier. Partial packing is a good middle ground: you pack the books, clothes and everyday things, and we handle the items that are easy to break or hard to wrap, such as glassware, pictures, mirrors, lamps and televisions.
Let us know which you want when you ask for a quote, along with roughly how many rooms need packing, so we can include it in the price and plan the time. Your belongings are fully insured while they are in our care. Packing is especially useful for longer trips, so if you are moving from St Helens to another part of the country, take a look at our long distance moves. For everything else we offer, see our services page, or send us photos on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177 and we will come back with a clear price.
Can you collect a Marketplace item in St Helens and bring it to Liverpool?
Yes, we collect single items and Marketplace buys from St Helens and drop them anywhere in Liverpool or further afield.
This is one of the most common small jobs we do. You find a sofa, table or wardrobe from a seller in Eccleston, Sutton or the town centre, and we collect it, load it safely and carry it into your home in Liverpool. It works the other way round too, if you are in St Helens and have bought something from a seller in the city. Our Marketplace collection service explains how it works.
To get a price, send us the listing or a photo of the item, plus both postcodes, on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177. It helps to tell us if there are stairs at either end, and to agree a collection time with the seller. Prices start from £50 and we agree a clear price before you book. If the item needs taking apart to get it out of the seller’s house, we can do that and rebuild it at yours. For bigger pieces bought from shops, see our single item delivery page.
Are my things insured during the move?
Yes, your belongings are fully insured while they are in our care, from the moment we load them in St Helens to when they are unloaded at your new home.
We also work to make sure nothing gets damaged in the first place. Furniture is wrapped and strapped in the van, bigger pieces are taken apart so they are not forced through doors or round tight landings, and we load the van so heavy items never sit on top of fragile ones. On longer trips from St Helens, that careful loading matters even more, because things are on the road for longer.
You can help by keeping valuables like jewellery, documents and cash with you, labelling boxes clearly and pointing out anything delicate before we start. If you want the fragile things packed for you, we offer full or partial packing. Our terms and conditions explain the details of cover and any items we cannot carry. If you have a question before you book, message us on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177, call 0151 272 3467 or use our contact page, and we usually reply within the hour.
How do I get a price for a St Helens move?
Send us photos of what is moving and both postcodes on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177, or call 0151 272 3467, and we usually reply within the hour.
Prices start from £50, and long distance moves start from £200. The final price depends on how much you are moving, how far it is going, whether there are stairs or a long carry at either end, and whether you want packing or furniture taken apart. Photos of each room, or of the single item, let us give you an accurate figure without a home visit. We agree a clear price with you before you book, so there are no surprises on the day.
You can also use the quote form on this page. Fill in your postcodes, date and what you need, and it opens WhatsApp with your details ready to send. We recommend booking two or more days ahead, but short notice is often possible. We are open Monday to Sunday, 8am to 9pm. To see the kind of jobs we price every week, look at our flat moves and furniture removal pages.
