Moving Home in Aintree, Planned Around Race Days

Aintree is best known for the racecourse and the Grand National, but most of it is quiet residential roads of semis and terraces, with the Leeds and Liverpool Canal running through and the retail park close by. Many homes have driveways or wider roads than the inner city, which makes loading easier, though race days bring heavy traffic.

We cover Aintree regularly from our Liverpool base on Smithdown Road. We take apart and rebuild furniture, offer full or partial packing, and will help you pick a moving day that avoids the busiest race-week roads.

FAQs

Aintree Move Questions

Do you cover all of Aintree?

Yes, we cover all of Aintree across L9 and L10, from the roads around Aintree Racecourse and the retail park to the homes along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. That includes Aintree Village, Old Roan, Ormskirk Road and the streets in between.

Most of Aintree is quiet residential roads of semis and terraces, and many homes have driveways, which usually makes loading straightforward. We also cover the areas right next door, including Fazakerley and Orrell Park, as well as Walton Vale, Netherton and Maghull, so a short local move is no problem.

Every one of our services is available in Aintree, from house and flat moves to single items, Marketplace pickups and furniture removal. Send us photos and both postcodes on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177 and we’ll agree a clear price before you book. Prices start from £50, and we usually reply within the hour, 8am to 9pm, seven days a week.

Can you move me during Grand National week?

Yes, we can move you during Grand National week, but the roads around Aintree Racecourse get very busy on race days, so timing matters. Heavy traffic near the course can affect how long it takes to reach you and get away again.

Tell us your date when you message and we’ll plan the timing, such as an early start before race traffic builds, or suggest a quieter day either side if your dates are flexible. If you’re moving into Aintree from elsewhere, the same applies at your end. Book earlier than usual for race week, as it gives us time to plan the route and arrival time. We recommend at least two days’ notice at any time of year.

If you only need one or two items moved that week, our single item delivery service can be easier to fit around race days. Our house moves page explains how a full moving day works.

Can you collect something I’ve bought from Aintree retail park?

Yes, we collect items bought from shops at Aintree retail park and from Marketplace sellers around Aintree, and deliver them to your home. That includes flat-pack furniture, sofas, beds and white goods such as fridges and washing machines.

Make sure the item is paid for and ready to collect, and send us the order number or collection reference along with the shop’s name. Tell us your postcode, which floor the item is going to and whether there are stairs. If you’d like flat-pack furniture built at your end, mention it when you ask for a price so we can allow time. Send the details on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177, and we usually reply within the hour.

For second-hand buys, see our Marketplace collections page. Our single item service covers shop collections across Liverpool, with prices from £50. If the item needs to come out of a store or warehouse at a set time, tell us when you book so we can plan the collection.

How far is Aintree from your base?

We’re based on Smithdown Road in L7, around 7 miles from Aintree across the city. We cover Aintree regularly, so we know the roads and can often fit in short-notice jobs.

We work 8am to 9pm, seven days a week, which gives plenty of room to plan an early start, an evening job or a weekend move. We still recommend booking two or more days ahead, and earlier in Grand National week, but it’s always worth asking if you need us sooner. When you message, tell us your preferred date and we’ll tell you the earliest slot we have. Send photos of what’s moving and both postcodes, and we’ll agree a clear price before you book.

We cover the north of the city regularly, including Netherton, Maghull and nearby Walton. You can see everywhere else we work on our areas we cover page, and prices start from £50 for local jobs.

Is parking easy for a move in Aintree?

Parking for a move in Aintree is usually easy, as many homes have driveways or sit on wider roads than the inner city. That means the van can often park right outside, which makes loading quicker and safer.

Race days are the exception. When there’s an event at Aintree Racecourse, roads near the course can fill up quickly, so let us know your date and any parking limits when you ask for a quote. If you have a driveway, keep it clear for the van on the day. If you’re on a main road such as Ormskirk Road, tell us the nearest side street where we can stop safely. The closer we can park, the quicker the job.

Parking at the other end matters too, especially if you’re moving to a flat or a busier part of the city. Our flat moves page explains how we handle stairs and tighter streets.

Do you take furniture apart and put it back together?

Yes, we take beds, wardrobes and tables apart where needed to get them out safely, then rebuild them at your new home. It makes heavy pieces easier to carry and stops them catching on doorframes, banisters and narrow landings.

Empty drawers and wardrobes before the day, and tell us about any large or awkward items, such as corner sofas, bunk beds or big dining tables, when you ask for a quote. We keep the fixings for each piece together so everything goes back up the way it came down. If any furniture is fixed to a wall, let us know in advance. Taking apart and rebuilding is included in the clear price we agree before you book.

It’s part of our house moves as standard. If an old piece isn’t coming with you, our furniture removal service can take it away instead, so you only move what you need at your new home.

Can you pack for me?

Yes, we offer full or partial packing, so you can leave all of it to us or just hand over the kitchen and fragile items. Many people pack clothes, books and personal things themselves and let us handle the glassware, crockery and awkward pieces.

Mention packing when you ask for a quote and tell us roughly how many rooms need doing, so we can plan the time into the day. If you’re packing yourself, use strong boxes, keep heavy items in smaller boxes and label each one with the room it’s going to. Keep a bag of essentials, such as documents, chargers, medicines and keys, with you rather than in the van.

Packing is available on all moves, including long distance removals from Aintree to anywhere in the UK. Any packing is included in the clear price we agree before you book. If you’d like to pack some rooms yourself and leave the rest to us, just say which ones when you get in touch.

Are my belongings insured during the move?

Yes, your belongings are fully insured while they’re in our care, from loading at your Aintree home to unloading at the other end. That applies to local moves, single items and long distance jobs alike.

We also work to stop damage in the first place. Furniture is wrapped and strapped in the van, heavy items go in first and fragile boxes are kept where nothing can land on them. Pack breakables with plenty of padding and mark the boxes clearly. Let us know about any high-value or delicate items when you ask for a quote so we can plan how to load them.

Our terms and conditions explain how cover and claims work. If you’re moving to Maghull or elsewhere nearby, the same cover applies. Ask us any questions about it before you book, and we’ll talk you through what’s covered. If you’re packing yourself, keep jewellery, documents and anything precious with you on the day.

How much notice do you need for an Aintree move?

We recommend booking two or more days ahead for an Aintree move, and earlier if your date falls in Grand National week. Weekends and the end of the month also tend to book up first, as lots of moves happen at the same time.

Short notice is often possible, so it’s always worth asking. Send us photos, both postcodes and your preferred date on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177, or call 0151 272 3467. We usually reply within the hour and will tell you the earliest slot we have. If your dates are flexible, tell us, as it gives us more options to fit you in. We work 8am to 9pm, seven days a week.

Students moving at the end of term can see our student moves page. For anything else, contact us and we’ll help. A photo of what’s moving and both postcodes is all we need to give you a clear price before you book.

How do I get a quote for a move in Aintree?

To get a quote for a move in Aintree, send us photos of what needs moving and both postcodes on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177, or call 0151 272 3467. We usually reply within the hour, 8am to 9pm, seven days a week.

The quote form on this page opens WhatsApp with your details already filled in, so you only need to add photos and send. Include the floor you’re on at each end, whether there’s a lift, parking or a driveway, any large items that need taking apart and whether you’d like packing. Prices start from £50, long distance moves from £200, and we agree a clear price before you book.

You can also use our contact page, or see all our services to find the right one for your move. We recommend booking at least two days ahead, and earlier if your date falls in Grand National week, though short notice is often possible, so it’s always worth asking.
