Moving Home in Bebington and Port Sunlight

Bebington is a mostly residential part of the Wirral, with Mayer Park in the middle of Lower Bebington and quieter roads of semis and detached houses up in Higher Bebington. Right next door is Port Sunlight, the old garden village built for Lever Brothers workers, where the Lady Lever Art Gallery stands among rows of period cottages. Those cottages are lovely but often have narrow doors and tight stairs.

We are based on Smithdown Road in Liverpool and cover Bebington regularly, coming through the Mersey tunnel. We look at the access before the day, take apart anything that will not fit through in one piece and rebuild it at your new place. Packing is available if you want it, and we do single items and Marketplace pickups too.

FAQs

Bebington Move Questions

Do you cover all of Bebington?

Yes, we cover all of Bebington in CH63, including Lower Bebington, Higher Bebington, Spital, Storeton and the streets around Mayer Park. We also cover Port Sunlight village and Bromborough in CH62, along with New Ferry and Rock Ferry just to the north.

Most Bebington moves are family homes, semis and detached houses on quieter residential roads, but we also move people in and out of flats, period cottages and smaller terraces. Whether you are moving across the road, to another part of the Wirral such as Birkenhead, or back over the water to Liverpool, it is a normal job for us.

We can also take you further, as we move people from Liverpool to anywhere in the UK. Prices start from £50, and you get a clear price agreed before you book. Send your postcodes and a few photos on WhatsApp and we will usually reply within the hour, or see every area we cover for the full list.

Can you move homes in Port Sunlight village?

Yes, we move homes in Port Sunlight village, and we take extra care with the older cottages. Many were built for Lever Brothers workers and have narrow front doors, tight staircases and small landings, which can make large modern furniture hard to get in and out.

Where a bed, wardrobe or sofa will not fit through in one piece, we take it apart, wrap it and rebuild it at the other end. We protect door frames, banisters and walls as we go, because period features in these homes are hard to repair. Everything is fully insured while it is in our care.

It helps to send photos of the biggest items and tell us about the stairs when you ask for a quote. Some cottage streets near the Lady Lever Art Gallery are narrow, so let us know about parking as well. Our house moves page explains what a typical move with us looks like, from loading the van to rebuilding furniture.

How do you get to Bebington from Liverpool?

We come through the Mersey tunnel from our base on Smithdown Road in Liverpool, and we cover Bebington regularly. Moves between Bebington and Liverpool, in either direction, are a normal job for us, as are moves from one part of the Wirral to another.

Because we work both sides of the river, we know the routes well and can plan the day so the van is loaded and on the road without wasted time. If you are moving from a Liverpool flat to a house in Bebington, or the other way round, the whole job is one booking with one clear price agreed before you book.

We are open seven days, 8am to 9pm, and recommend booking two or more days ahead, although short notice is often possible. If you are heading much further than the Wirral, our long distance removals start from £200 and cover anywhere in the UK. For moves out of a flat, see our flat moves page.

Do tunnel tolls add to the cost of a Bebington move?

Your quote covers the whole job, including getting the van to you through the tunnel, so there is no separate charge added on the day. You get one clear price agreed before you book, based on what you are moving and where it is going.

The things that affect the price most are how much you have, how many stairs there are at each end, how far apart the two addresses are, and whether you want packing or furniture taken apart. A few boxes and a bed will cost far less than a full family house. Prices start from £50, and long distance moves start from £200.

To get an accurate figure, send us both postcodes and photos of what is going on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177, or call 0151 272 3467. We usually reply within the hour. If you only need one item brought over from Liverpool, our single item delivery service is usually the cheapest way to do it.

What’s parking like for a move in Bebington?

Parking for a move in Bebington is usually easy, as most homes are semis and detached houses with driveways or room on the road outside. That means we can often park close to the door, which keeps carrying to a minimum and speeds the move up.

Port Sunlight is the main exception. Its cottage streets are narrower and some have parking limits, so we need to plan where the van will stop before we arrive. The same goes for some of the terraced roads towards New Ferry and Rock Ferry, where cars are often parked on both sides.

When you ask for a quote, tell us the address, whether you have a drive, and any parking limits we should know about. If you can keep your drive or the space outside clear on the day, even better. If the other end of the move is in Heswall or Birkenhead, tell us about parking there too, so both ends are planned before we set off.

Do you take furniture apart and put it back together?

Yes, we take beds, wardrobes and tables apart where they will not fit through in one piece, then rebuild them at your new home. It is part of the job, not an extra you have to arrange separately.

This matters most in Port Sunlight’s older cottages, where stairs and doorways are narrow, but it can also help in modern homes with tight landings or awkward turns. We keep screws and fittings together with each item so nothing goes missing, and we wrap the pieces so they do not get scratched in the van. Everything is fully insured while it is in our care.

Flat-pack furniture and some older pieces can be fragile once taken apart, so let us know about anything you are worried about when you ask for a quote. Photos help us plan the time needed. If you are getting rid of some furniture rather than moving it, our furniture removal service takes away unwanted furniture and household items, though not general waste.

Can you pack for me?

Yes, we offer full or partial packing, so you can leave everything to us or just the fragile and awkward items. Many people pack clothes and books themselves and leave the kitchen, glassware, mirrors and pictures to us.

Good packing protects your things on the stairs and in the van. Plates and glasses are wrapped individually, boxes are packed firmly so nothing moves, and heavy items go into smaller boxes so they are easier to carry. This is especially useful in Port Sunlight’s period cottages, where every trip up and down a narrow staircase counts.

Tell us how much packing you want when you ask for a quote, with a few photos of the rooms, and we will include it in one clear price agreed before you book. There are no extras added on the day. If you are moving a home office or business stock instead, have a look at our commercial deliveries service.

Are my belongings insured during the move?

Yes, your belongings are fully insured while they are in our care, from loading in Bebington to unloading at the other end. That includes time on the stairs, in the van and on the journey through the tunnel or across the Wirral.

We would rather nothing was ever damaged, so insurance is the backup, not the plan. Furniture is wrapped before it leaves the room, large pieces are taken apart where needed, and the van is loaded so heavy items sit low and cannot shift onto lighter ones. We take the same care with a single chair as with a full house.

If you have anything especially valuable or delicate, such as an antique, a large mirror or framed art, mention it when you ask for a quote so we can plan how to wrap and carry it. You can read the details in our terms and conditions, or contact us with any questions before you book.

Can you collect a Marketplace item from Bebington?

Yes, we collect second-hand furniture and appliances from sellers in Bebington and across the Wirral and deliver them to you, wherever you are in Liverpool or the Wirral. Sofas, wardrobes, dining sets, fridges and washing machines are all common pickups.

Send us the listing photo and both postcodes on WhatsApp and we will give you a price, usually within the hour. We collect within around 100 miles, so if the item is further away it is still worth asking. Prices start from £50, and you get a clear price before you book.

Before we go, agree a collection time with the seller and check whether the item comes apart or needs carrying down stairs. If it was built in a room, we can take it apart there and rebuild it at your home, so you do not have to worry about it fitting through the door. See our Marketplace collections page for more on how it works.

How do I get a quote for a Bebington move?

To get a quote for a Bebington move, send photos of what needs moving and both postcodes on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177, or call 0151 272 3467. We usually reply within the hour, 8am to 9pm, seven days a week.

Photos of each room and any large items help us price it properly. Tell us whether there are stairs at either end, if you have a drive, and whether you want packing or furniture taken apart. The quote form on this page opens WhatsApp with your details already filled in, so all you have to do is press send.

Prices start from £50, and long distance moves start from £200, with a clear price agreed before you book. We recommend booking two or more days ahead, though short notice is often possible. If you would rather see everything we do first, browse our services or use our contact page to reach us another way.
