Moving Home in Croxteth, Old Estate and New

Croxteth covers two quite different kinds of housing. Around Altcar Road and the older part of the area there are council-built semis and terraces, while the Croxteth Park estate is mostly newer detached and semi-detached homes on cul-de-sacs, many with driveways. Both sit right next to Croxteth Hall and its country park.

We cover Croxteth regularly as part of our man and van Liverpool service, working from our base on Smithdown Road. We take beds and wardrobes apart, rebuild them at the other end, and can pack the whole house or just the kitchen and the breakables. We handle flat moves from the low-rise blocks too, and our furniture removal service can clear anything you are leaving behind.

FAQs

Croxteth Move Questions

Do you cover all of Croxteth?

Yes, we cover all of Croxteth across the L11 and L12 postcodes. That includes the Altcar Road area, Muirhead Avenue East, Stonebridge Lane, Gillmoss, the streets near Croxteth Hall and Country Park and the whole Croxteth Park estate.

We also cover the neighbourhoods around it, including Norris Green, West Derby, Dovecot, Fazakerley and Kirkby, so a short move from one side of Croxteth to the other, or out to a nearby area, is easy to arrange. Moving into Croxteth from elsewhere in Liverpool or further away works just as well.

From a single wardrobe to a full family house, every job gets a clear price agreed before you book, with prices starting from £50. We work seven days a week, from 8am to 9pm, and usually reply to messages within the hour. If you are not sure whether your street is covered, send your postcode on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177 and we will confirm it. You can also see the full list of areas we cover across Liverpool and Merseyside.

Do you move people on the Croxteth Park estate?

Yes, we move people in and out of the Croxteth Park estate regularly. It is mostly newer detached and semi-detached homes on quiet cul-de-sacs, many with driveways, which usually makes loading quick and simple.

Family homes on the estate often have a fair amount of furniture, so we ask for photos of each room when you request a quote. That lets us plan how much van space is needed and how long the job will take. Beds, wardrobes and tables are taken apart where needed and rebuilt at your new place, and everything is wrapped before it goes in the van.

If you would rather not pack the house yourself, we offer full or partial packing, so you can hand over the whole job or just the kitchen and breakables. Your belongings are fully insured while they are in our care. Let us know if we can use your drive on the day, and whether the cul-de-sac gets busy with parked cars. You can read more about how a full move works on our house moves page, or send us photos on WhatsApp to get a price.

Can you do a Marketplace pickup in Croxteth?

Yes, we collect single items and Marketplace buys across Croxteth and the surrounding areas, and we deliver items bought elsewhere to Croxteth homes too.

Common jobs include sofas, beds, wardrobes, dining tables, fridges and washing machines. We carry the item out of the seller’s home, wrap it, load it securely and bring it into the room you want it in at your end. If it needs taking apart to fit through a doorway, such as a bed frame or a wardrobe, we can do that and rebuild it when it arrives.

To get a price, send us a photo of the item or the listing, plus both postcodes, on WhatsApp. Let us know about stairs or tight access at either end, and agree a collection time with the seller so we can fit around it. Prices start from £50, with a clear price agreed before you book. Our Marketplace collections page explains more, and if you just need one item moved between two addresses, our single item delivery service works the same way.

How far is Croxteth from your base?

We are based on Smithdown Road in L7, a few miles south of Croxteth via Queens Drive, and we cover Croxteth regularly.

Being a short drive away means we can often fit in short-notice jobs, such as a quick single item collection or a small flat move, when the diary allows. It also means less of your booking goes on travel and more goes on the move itself. We are in north and east Liverpool most weeks, so a Croxteth job often sits alongside work in West Derby, Norris Green or Fazakerley.

We are open seven days a week, from 8am to 9pm, and we usually reply within the hour. We still recommend booking two or more days ahead where you can, especially at the end of the month when many tenancies end and moves get busier. If you need help sooner, message us and we will tell you honestly whether we can fit you in. All our contact details, including our phone and WhatsApp numbers, are on our contact page.

What’s parking like for a move in Croxteth?

Parking is usually easy for a Croxteth move. Many homes on the Croxteth Park estate have driveways, and most roads in the older part of Croxteth have on-street parking close to the door.

If we can use your drive on the day, tell us when you book so we can plan the load around it. On streets without a drive, it helps to keep a space free outside on the morning of the move, for example by moving your own car or asking a neighbour. A shorter walk from the door to the van makes the job quicker and safer.

Cul-de-sacs can fill up with parked cars, and some low-rise flats have shared car parks or longer walks to the entrance. If that applies to you, tell us about access and parking when you ask for a quote, including roughly how far the van can get from your front door. We will plan where to stop before we arrive. If you are moving from a flat, our flat moves page explains how we deal with stairs, lifts and tighter access.

Do you take furniture apart and put it back together?

Yes, we take beds, wardrobes and tables apart where needed to get them out safely, then rebuild them at your new home.

Large pieces often will not fit through doorways or round tight stair turns in one go, and forcing them risks damage to the furniture and to your walls. Taking them apart means they can be wrapped, carried and loaded properly. We keep fixings together with each item so it goes back together correctly at the other end, and we put it back in the room you want it in.

When you ask for a quote, let us know which items will need taking apart, such as wardrobes, bed frames, dining tables or large desks, and send photos if you can. That helps us allow the right amount of time. It is included in the clear price agreed before you book. This works on any job, from a full house move to a single piece of flat-pack furniture, and if you have pieces you no longer want, our furniture removal service can take those away instead.

Are my belongings insured during the move?

Yes, your belongings are fully insured while they are in our care, from loading at your Croxteth home to unloading at the other end.

Insurance is a backstop, and the aim is that you never need it. We wrap furniture before it goes in the van, protect mattresses and sofas, strap the load securely and take bigger items apart where needed so they are not forced through doorways or down tight stairs. Fragile items we pack for you are boxed and padded properly.

There are a few things you can do to help. Tell us about any valuable, antique or very fragile items when you book, so we can plan how to carry and pack them. If you are packing yourself, use strong boxes, do not overfill them and clearly mark anything breakable. Keep jewellery, important documents and medication with you rather than in the van. The details of how cover works are set out in our terms and conditions, and you are welcome to ask us any questions before you book. If you would like a hand with the fragile items, partial packing is available.

Will you take away old furniture when I move?

Yes, our furniture removal service takes away unwanted furniture and household items, either on the day of your move or as a separate job. It is furniture and household items only, not general waste.

It is a simple way to clear pieces you do not want to take with you, such as an old sofa, a bed frame, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers or a dining set. Moving is a good time to clear out, and doing it in one trip saves you booking a separate collection later or trying to fit bulky items in a car.

We cannot take general waste, such as bags of rubbish, garden waste or building rubble, so please keep those out of the load. To get a price, send us photos of the items and your postcode, and let us know if anything is upstairs or in a garage or shed. Everything is priced clearly before you book. You can read more about what we take on our furniture removal page, or ask us to combine it with your move so it all happens on the same day.

How much notice do you need for a Croxteth move?

We recommend booking two or more days ahead, but short notice is often possible, so if you need to move sooner, message us and we will see what we can do.

A couple of days gives us time to look at your photos, plan the load and fit your job into the diary at the time that suits you best. Bigger family houses, moves that include packing and long distance trips benefit from a bit more notice, as they take up more of the day. The end of the month is usually the busiest time, as lots of tenancies end at once, so book earlier if your date falls then.

If your plans change or your completion date moves, let us know as early as you can and we will try to move your booking. Our terms and conditions set out how changes and cancellations work. For short-notice jobs, WhatsApp is the quickest way to reach us at 07552 999 177, and we usually reply within the hour, from 8am to 9pm, seven days a week. You can also see the full range of services we offer.

How do I get a quote for a Croxteth move?

Send us photos of what needs moving and both postcodes on WhatsApp at 07552 999 177, or call 0151 272 3467. We usually reply within the hour, from 8am to 9pm, seven days a week.

Photos help us price the job accurately, so include each room or the main items of furniture. Let us know which floor you are on at both ends, whether there are lifts, what parking is like outside and your preferred date. Mention anything that needs taking apart, any packing you want help with and any old furniture you want taken away. The quote form on this page opens WhatsApp with your details already filled in, which saves you typing it all out.

We then come back with a clear price, agreed before you book, with prices starting from £50 and long distance moves from £200. There is no obligation to go ahead. If you are moving further afield, our long distance removals cover anywhere in the UK, and we collect within around 100 miles of Liverpool. Whatever the job, the same simple quote process applies.
