Moving Home in Runcorn
Runcorn has two quite different sides. Runcorn Old Town, down by the river and the Silver Jubilee Bridge, has older terraced streets close to the shops. Most of the rest was built as a new town, with estates like Castlefields, Palace Fields, Murdishaw and Windmill Hill made up of semis, townhouses and some low-rise flats, often with shared parking areas rather than parking outside the door. Halton Castle sits on the hill above Halton Village, and Norton Priory is out towards Norton.
We are based on Smithdown Road and bring our man and van Liverpool service to Runcorn regularly. We plan where to park before the day, take apart beds and wardrobes that need it and rebuild them at the other end, whether it is a family home or one of our flat moves from a low-rise block. Moves across the river to Widnes, out to Warrington, into Liverpool, or further afield are all fine, and we also do Marketplace collections into WA7.
- Old Town terraces and new-town estates across WA7
- Fully insured while your things are in our care
- Open 7 days, 8am to 9pm

Runcorn Move Questions
Do you cover all of Runcorn?
Yes, we cover all of Runcorn in WA7, including Runcorn Old Town, Halton Village, Norton, Castlefields, Murdishaw, Palace Fields, Windmill Hill, Weston and Sandymoor.
Runcorn has two quite different sides. The Old Town, down by the river and the Silver Jubilee Bridge, has older terraced streets close to the shops, while most of the rest was built as a new town, with estates of semis, townhouses and low-rise flats. We plan each move around the type of property, the stairs and where the van can stop, and wherever you are in WA7 you get the same service and the same clear pricing.
Moves across the river to Widnes are a regular job, and you can see all the areas we cover if you are heading somewhere else on Merseyside. To get a price, send us both postcodes, a few photos of what you are taking and your preferred date on WhatsApp. We usually reply within the hour, and we are open Monday to Sunday, 8am to 9pm.
Do you do moves between Runcorn and Widnes?
Yes, moves across the river between Runcorn and Widnes are a regular job for us, as are moves from Runcorn into Liverpool or the other way round.
Because the two towns are so close, a Runcorn to Widnes move is usually a short drive, so most of the time goes on loading and unloading rather than travel. That keeps the price down compared with a longer move. We take apart beds and wardrobes that need it, wrap anything that could scratch and rebuild it all at your new home. If you want help with packing, we offer full or partial packing too.
If you are moving to Widnes, our Widnes man and van page has more about the area. For a full house on either side of the river, see our house moves. Send us both postcodes, photos of what you are moving and your date on WhatsApp, and we will agree a clear price with you before you book. Your belongings are fully insured while they are in our care.
How far is Runcorn from your base?
We are based on Smithdown Road in Liverpool L7 and cover Runcorn regularly, so it is well within the area we work in every week.
Moves between Runcorn and Liverpool, in either direction, are a normal job for us, and so are moves within Runcorn itself. Because we travel out to you, the distance between your old home and your new one, and how much you are taking, matters more to the price than where we start from. We agree a clear price with you before you book, so there are no surprises on the day. We collect from anywhere within around 100 miles of Liverpool and move people to anywhere in the UK.
We also cover the wider area around Runcorn, including Warrington, so a move between the two is no problem. If you have any questions before booking, get in touch by phone on 0151 272 3467 or on WhatsApp 07552 999 177. We are open Monday to Sunday, 8am to 9pm, and usually reply within the hour, which helps if you are trying to plan around keys or a tenancy end date.
How much does a man and van cost in Runcorn?
Our prices start from £50 for smaller jobs, and long distance moves start from £200, with a clear price agreed with you before you book.
The final price depends on how much you are moving, the distance between the two addresses, how easy the access is at each end, and whether you want extras such as packing or furniture taken apart and rebuilt. A single item or a small flat will sit near the lower end, while a full family home will cost more. On estates with shared parking areas, a longer carry from the van can add time, and so can stairs in a low-rise block, so tell us about them up front. There are no hidden extras added on the day.
For small jobs, our single item delivery is usually the cheapest option. For moves out of the North West, see our long distance removals. To get your price, send us photos and both postcodes on WhatsApp, or fill in the quote form on this page, which opens WhatsApp ready to send.
Where will the van park on a Runcorn estate?
We park as close to your door as we can, and on Runcorn estates we plan the spot before moving day so the carry is as short as possible.
Many homes on estates like Castlefields, Palace Fields and Murdishaw have shared parking areas or parking courts rather than a space right outside the door, and some front doors face footpaths rather than the road. That can mean a longer walk with each item, so it helps us to know in advance. If you have a parking space, keep it clear on the morning of the move, and let us know about any barriers, bollards or restrictions.
When you ask for a quote, tell us your full address and roughly how far your door is from the nearest place a van can stop. A photo of the route is even better. Our house removals include this planning as standard, so we can tell you honestly how long the job will take and agree a clear price before you book.
Can you move a low-rise flat in Runcorn?
Yes, we move low-rise flats all over Runcorn, whether you are on the ground floor or at the top of a block with no lift.
Let us know the floor and whether there is a lift when you ask for a quote, as that affects how long the job takes. We carry everything down, take apart beds, wardrobes and sofas that will not fit round the stairwell, wrap the parts and rebuild them at your new place. Shared hallways and communal doors can be narrow, so we protect corners and take our time on the stairs.
Our flat moves cover everything from a one-bed with a few boxes to a fully furnished flat, and we offer full or partial packing if you would like help. If you can, book the lift with your building manager or let neighbours know the time of the move. Send us photos of your furniture and both postcodes on WhatsApp, and we will agree a clear price with you before you book.
Do you offer packing for Runcorn moves?
Yes, we offer full or partial packing, so we can box up your whole home or just the rooms you have not got round to.
Full packing suits you if you are short on time or would rather not deal with it, while partial packing is popular for kitchens, which take longer than people expect. Either way, we wrap fragile items such as glasses, plates and pictures, pack boxes so they are not too heavy to carry down stairs or across a shared parking area, and label them so you know which room each one belongs in.
If you would rather pack yourself, start with the rooms you use least, keep a separate bag of essentials for the first night, and put heavy things like books in small boxes. Packing can be added to any job on our services list, from a flat to a full family home. Tell us what you need help with when you ask for a quote, and we will include it in the clear price we agree before you book.
Can you collect a Marketplace buy and bring it to Runcorn?
Yes, we collect Marketplace buys from anywhere within around 100 miles of Liverpool and bring them into your home in Runcorn.
Send us the collection postcode, your postcode and a photo or link to the item, along with the time the seller is free. Sofas, wardrobes, beds, dining tables, appliances and garden furniture are all typical jobs. Before you pay, check the measurements against your doorways and stairs, and ask the seller whether the item can be taken apart, because that can make a big difference to getting it into a flat or townhouse.
When we arrive, we carry the item out, load it carefully, and carry it into the room you want at your end. Our Marketplace collections start from £50, and we usually reply within the hour, which helps when a seller wants it gone quickly. If it is a shop purchase rather than a private sale, our single item service works the same way.
How far ahead should I book a Runcorn move?
We recommend booking at least two days ahead, but short notice is often possible, so it is worth asking even if your move is tomorrow.
We are open Monday to Sunday, 8am to 9pm, which means evening and weekend moves are fine too. Busy dates, such as the end of the month and the start and end of tenancies, fill up quicker, so if your date is fixed, tell us as soon as you know it. For a full family home, booking a week or two ahead gives you time to sort packing and line up keys and completion times with the van.
To book, send us both postcodes, your date and some photos on WhatsApp, or call 0151 272 3467. We usually reply within the hour and will agree a clear price before anything is confirmed. If you are moving a long way from Runcorn, our long distance moves are worth booking a little earlier. You can also contact us any day to check whether a date is free.
Are my belongings insured during a Runcorn move?
Yes, your belongings are fully insured while they are in our care, from loading at your old home to unloading at the new one.
We also work to stop damage happening in the first place. Furniture is wrapped before it goes in the van, beds and wardrobes are taken apart where they would otherwise scrape round tight stairwells, and everything is loaded and secured carefully for the journey. With more than 300 moves done, we know how to handle Old Town terraces as well as townhouses and low-rise flats on the new-town estates.
To help us, pack fragile items well, label boxes clearly and tell us about anything valuable or delicate when you ask for a quote. You are welcome to be there while we load so you can point out anything that needs extra care. Our terms and conditions set out how cover works and what to do if anything goes wrong. You can see the full range of what we do on our services page, then send us photos on WhatsApp for a price.
