Moving Flats and Apartments in the City Centre
Most city centre moves are flats. That might be a new-build apartment block on the Waterfront or in Vauxhall, a converted warehouse in the Baltic Triangle or Ropewalks, or a tall Georgian townhouse split into flats in the Georgian Quarter. Each one has its own challenges: lifts that need booking, narrow stairwells, one-way streets and loading restrictions outside the door.
Our base on Smithdown Road is a short drive from town, so as a local man and van Liverpool service we know the city centre well. Tell us the building, the floor and whether there is a lift, and we will plan the stop and the carry before we arrive. We take beds and wardrobes apart where they will not fit through a door or lift, and put them back together at the other end, which is all part of our flat moves in Liverpool and furniture removal service.
Students moving in or out of town at term time can book our student moves, and if you are heading just outside the centre we cover Toxteth and Edge Hill too.
- Used to apartment blocks, lifts and concierge buildings
- Fully insured while your things are in our care
- Open 7 days, 8am to 9pm

Liverpool City Centre Move Questions
Do you cover all of Liverpool City Centre?
Yes, we cover every part of Liverpool City Centre across the L1, L2 and L3 postcodes. That includes the Baltic Triangle, Ropewalks and Bold Street, the Georgian Quarter, Liverpool ONE, the Business District, the Albert Dock, Kings Dock, Princes Dock, Pier Head, the Waterfront, Vauxhall and Islington.
Our base is on Smithdown Road in Liverpool L7, a short drive from town, so city centre jobs are a normal part of our week. We move flats and apartments, townhouses, student rooms and single items, and we also cover the neighbourhoods right next to the centre, such as Toxteth and Everton, if you are moving just outside town.
If you are not sure whether your street is covered, send us both postcodes on WhatsApp at 07494 947 303 or call 0151 272 3467. We are open Monday to Sunday, 8am to 9pm, and usually reply within the hour. Tell us the building name, the floor and whether there is a lift, and we will come back with a clear price before you book anything.
Can you move us out of a city centre apartment block?
Yes, we move people out of city centre apartment blocks all the time, from new builds on the Waterfront and in Vauxhall to converted warehouses in the Baltic Triangle and Ropewalks.
When you ask for a quote, tell us the floor, whether there is a lift, and if the building has a concierge or a loading bay. Many blocks ask residents to book the lift or a loading slot with building management, so it is worth sorting that as soon as your date is fixed. Some buildings also limit moves to certain hours, which is easier to work around because we are open 8am to 9pm, seven days a week.
On the day we carry everything down, load it and take it to your new place, whether that is another flat in town or a house further out. Beds and wardrobes are taken apart if they will not fit in the lift and rebuilt at the other end. See how our flat moves in Liverpool work, or send us photos on WhatsApp for a price.
Where does the van park in the city centre?
We plan where the van will stop before we arrive, based on the building name and street you give us when you ask for a quote.
A lot of city centre streets have loading restrictions, one-way systems or busy traffic outside the door, especially around Liverpool ONE, Bold Street and the Business District. Knowing the exact address lets us work out the closest place to load and how far we will need to carry your things. If your building has its own car park, loading area or concierge, ask building management whether we can use it on the day and if anything needs booking in advance. That one step often makes the whole move quicker.
It also helps to tell us about anything awkward at the other end, such as a narrow street or a long walk from the kerb, so the price we agree covers the whole job and there are no surprises. If you are moving from town out to a house with a driveway, our house moves page explains what to expect.
How much does a man and van cost in Liverpool City Centre?
Prices start from £50 for small jobs, and long distance moves start from £200.
The final price depends on how much you are moving, the floor you live on, whether there is a lift, how far the van has to park from the door and how far you are going. A single sofa from a ground-floor flat costs far less than a full two-bedroom apartment on an upper floor with no lift. Every city centre move is a little different, so we price each one on its own rather than guessing.
The quickest way to get a price is to send us photos of what you are moving and both postcodes on WhatsApp at 07494 947 303. The quote form on this page opens WhatsApp with your details already filled in. We usually reply within the hour and agree a clear price with you before you book. If it is just one item, our single item delivery service is often the simplest option.
Can you help students moving in or out of city centre flats?
Yes, we help students moving in and out of city centre flats and halls at the start and end of every term.
Student moves are a regular job for us, whether you are moving into a block in town for the new academic year, swapping flats with friends, or taking everything home for the summer. Most student moves are boxes, bags, a desk chair and maybe a TV or a small bit of furniture, so they are often quick and simple. Term start and end dates get busy, so booking at least two days ahead is a good idea, although short notice is often possible.
Send us both postcodes and a rough list of what you have, plus the floor and whether there is a lift, and we will give you a price. We can also take your things home to anywhere in the UK if you are leaving Liverpool for the summer. Our student moves page has more detail on how it works.
Do you work evenings and weekends in the city centre?
Yes, we work evenings and weekends, and we are open Monday to Sunday from 8am to 9pm.
That matters in the city centre, where a lot of apartment buildings only allow moves at certain times or ask you to book the lift for a set slot. It also helps if you work office hours in town, need to fit around a tenancy end date, or want to move on a quieter day when the streets around Liverpool ONE and the Business District are less busy. Weekend slots tend to go first, so it is worth getting in touch early.
We recommend booking at least two days ahead, but short notice is often possible, so message us even if your move is tomorrow. Send both postcodes, your preferred date and time, and a few photos on WhatsApp, and we usually reply within the hour. You can also call 0151 272 3467 or use the form on our contact page.
What if my sofa or bed will not fit in the lift?
If a bed, wardrobe or other piece of furniture will not fit in the lift, through a door or round a stairwell, we take it apart and rebuild it at your new home.
This is common in city centre buildings, where lifts can be small and corridors narrow, and in Georgian Quarter townhouses with tight turns on the stairs. Beds, wardrobes, tables and most flat-pack items come apart, and we keep the fixings together so everything goes back the same way. Some sofas have feet or arms that come off, which can make the difference. If something cannot go through the building at all, we will talk it through with you before the day.
Tell us the floor and the rough size of the lift when you ask for a quote, and mention any large pieces like corner sofas or king-size beds. That way we can plan the carry and allow the right amount of time. Taking furniture apart and rebuilding it is part of our furniture removal and moving service, so you do not need to arrange it separately.
Can you collect a Marketplace buy and bring it to my city centre flat?
Yes, we collect Marketplace buys and other second-hand furniture and bring them straight to your city centre flat.
Send us the collection postcode, your postcode, and a photo or link to the item, and we will give you a price. We collect from anywhere within around 100 miles of Liverpool, so you can buy from further afield than you might think. Before you agree a time with the seller, check the size of the item and whether it comes apart, as that helps us plan getting it into your building and up to your floor.
On the day we pick it up, load it carefully and carry it up to your flat, using the lift where there is one. If your building needs a loading slot booked, let us know the time window so we can arrive within it. Our Marketplace collections page explains more, and we usually reply to WhatsApp quotes within the hour.
Are my belongings insured during a city centre move?
Yes, your belongings are fully insured while they are in our care during a city centre move.
Cover runs from the moment we load your things to the moment we unload them at the other end, whether you are moving between two flats in town or from the centre to somewhere further away. We also wrap furniture, take apart pieces that will not fit through doors or lifts, and load the van carefully, because the best outcome is that nothing gets damaged in the first place.
To help on the day, pack fragile items well, label boxes for each room and keep valuables like jewellery, documents and laptops with you. If you would rather not do the packing yourself, full and partial packing is available. You can read what is covered in our terms and conditions, and if you have any questions about insurance before you book, call us on 0151 272 3467 and we will talk you through it.
Can you move me from the city centre to somewhere else in the UK?
Yes, we move people from Liverpool City Centre to anywhere in the UK, as well as to other parts of Liverpool and Merseyside.
Long distance moves start from £200, and the price depends on how much you are taking and how far you are going. Whether you are leaving a flat on the Waterfront for a new job in another city or heading home after university, we load everything in town and drive it straight to your new address, with your things fully insured the whole way. Furniture is taken apart and rebuilt at the other end where needed, and packing is available if you want help with that too.
Send us both postcodes and photos of what you are taking on WhatsApp, and we will come back with a clear price, usually within the hour. Booking at least two days ahead is best for longer trips. Our long distance removals page has more on how these moves work.
